CEO of The Dreaming Space
Claire Ruby James has been professionally performing for over 26 years, and has developed into an entertainment and events business powerhouse. Writing, directing and performing shows at Art Centres, Festivals and Events.
Career highlights have been:
A Spring season of sell out shows at The Melbourne Art Centre, Playhouse theatre. The Spiegeltent, Moomba, Rochford Winery, Optus, Woodford Folk festival and Peninsula Hot Springs, State Library, Melbourne Zoos.
Touring The Dreaming Space shows throughout Art Centres with circus musicals and in stretch circus tents while creating and curating mini stand alone festivals or festivals within a festival for councils since 2009.
Her teaching joy through circus skills, dance, singing, drumming and acting has taken her on an inspiring journey for over 20 years from corporate team building workshop for example African drumming for 200 guests per hr for 3hrs for Optus staff, to working for the Melbourne Art Centre in it’s art outreach program in schools curating school productions along with curating and presenting wellness dance/ yoga and mindfulness programs for schools such as Methodist Ladies College. One of the major highlights was being flown in to present to 100 international heads of the Pranic healing in India on the importance of creativity for the developing child. After the process she took them through one of the teachers shared they had the deepest meditation they had ever had.
Claire’s background as a Naturopath, Pranic healer, Swedish and Thai Masseur informs her H’Art that comes from another world. Being a vessel for creative expression to elevate human potential and awareness. Her skills as a chameleon ensures her creations and communication can touch, move and inspire any audience.
With the goal of uplifting people and creating spaces for them to shine and be wonder-full, bringing all age groups and cultures together to learn from and appreciate one another. Claire’s skills include but are not limited to: Many styles of dance, acting, African drumming, master storytelling, adagio, stilt walking, magic, directing and writing. Yet her favorite way to touch the hearts of many is through her soulful voice

Chris has a Bachelor of Creative Arts/ Acting and Music Performance and a Masters of Teaching. Chris has written, directed, performed and toured plays across the world, including his original theatrical play, incorporating circus in ‘Beyond Truth’. This was toured throughout India, Asia and Europe over 2 ½ years performed for over 100,000 people and translated into 8 languages. Highlights were performing for corporate groups such as; for the management team of Tata Motors, bringing the CEO to tears. For 1000 police officers at the anti-corruption conferences in India, for international peace organisation ‘Initiatives of Change’, delegates at Caux Palace in Switzerland including royalty. Then being invited to become an artist in residence producing plays for the Caux Palace conferences around the theme of transformation.
Chris then studied a Masters of Teaching at Melbourne University and became a founding member of the opening of the first Montessori High School in Melbourne, studying in Cleveland Ohio. To become an all rounded teacher he studied Rudolph Steiner Teacher Training course in Melbourne and became an author of his accelerated teaching and training guide called ‘Teacher Presence’.
Inspired by the beauty of stretch tents and complexity of Geo Domes, he manufactures and builds these for Council events and has constructed Domes at The Peninsula Hot Springs and corporate events such as The Convention Centre.
As The Dreaming Space Co Director he enjoys curating shows and unique experiences for large private, council and corporate events. Some highlights were for Moomba, Rochford Winery, Optus, Australian Open and Epworth Hospital Staff andPeninsula Hot Springs events.
Chris’s skills include; carpentry, steel and fabric structures fabrication, acting, master storytelling, circus Juggling, balancing master, unicycling, adagio, multiple fire apparatus, lighting and sound curation, giant bubble artistry, stilt walking, guitar, magic, directing, writing plays and musicals.
