It all started when I travelled to Wilkenia in Northern Victoria to bring a little sense of circus life to the local aboriginal community. I felt frustrated when the students did not want to learn juggling, so I gave up, grabbed a piece of cardboard and begun to slide down the edge of the river bank surfing on the cardboard, students began having the best time with their old broken boxes and cardboard pieces. One student cam to me at the age of 10 and asked “Hey Chris mate, why you wear shoes?” I replied “So my feet don’t get hurt”, He said “Why y0ur feet get hurt? I said “because my feet are soft”. He said “Why your feet soft?” I said, because I wear shoes”. I felt confused and wondered to myself, “Why do I wear shoes?”, I asked him what is the most important thing in your life”, He said, “thats easy the dreaming”, I asked “What is the Dreaming?” He said “The Dreaming is the Space of the Ancestors where our imaginations can take us to Wonder at doing things we have never done before within the beauty of life”.

This was an enlightened moment for me, as I knew then that It was my life purpose to bring the space of dreaming to the world. I know that the space of Dreaming is a deep and forever growing process which will continue to evolve over the next few years of performance wonder.

Thank you to our wonderful team for making it possible to create this wonder through the hard work everyone achieves each week on this wonderful soul giving project we call ‘The Dreaming Space’.
